Before you can manage your FortiSwitch virtual stack on FortiGate, you must enable the switch controller feature so FortiGate can discover and manage connected FortiSwitch devices. In addition, you must make sure the FortiSwitchOS version of your switch is compatible with the FortiOS version of your FortiGate. You can check the FortiSwitchOS and FortiOS compatibility matrix on docs. fortinet. com.

The switch controller feature is enabled by default on most FortiGate models. In FortiGate VM models, however, it is not enabled by default, but you can enable it using the CLI commands shown on this slide.

After you enable the switch controller feature, the related switch controller settings are shown on the GUI. If the GUI settings are not shown, make sure that the switch control feature is enabled.
