Refer to the exhibits. Based on the current HA status, an administrator updates the override and priority parameters on HQ-NGFW-1 and HQ-NGFW-2 as shown in the exhibit. What would be the expected outcome in the HA cluster? (Choose one answer)

  • A. HQ-NGFW-1 will synchronize the override disable setting with HQ-NGFW-2.
  • B. HQ-NGFW-2 will take over as the primary because it has the override enable setting and higher priority than HQ-NGFW-1.
  • C. HQ-NGFW-1 will remain the primary because HQ-NGFW-2 has lower priority.
  • D. The HA cluster will become out of sync because the override setting must match on all HA members.

"When override is enabled, the easiest way of triggering a failover is to change the HA priorities. For example, you can either increase the priority of one of the secondary devices, or decrease the priority of the primary. The override setting and device priority values are not synchronized to cluster members. You must manually enable override and adjust the priority on each member."

If the HA override setting is enabled, the priority is considered before the HA uptime.
The override setting and device priority values are not synchronized to cluster members.
The advantage of this method is that you can specify which device is the preferred primary every time (as long as it is up and running) by configuring it with the highest HA priority value.

Even if the configuration is mismatched (Priority enabled on one, disabled on the other), if at least one unit has set override enable active, it forces the entire cluster to re-negotiate based on the Priority metric rather than sticking to uptime.
so HQ-NGFW-2 would become the perimary device
