This is A&D, on page 491 of the study guide, they must have the same HA Group ID and same Hard Drive Configuration.

why not A, C? but D is also correct))

Same Layer 2 connectivity (heartbeat subnet) ✅

not B - they only have to have the same heartbeat interface settings, but not in the same subnet
not C - they only have to have the same operating mode of the MANAGEMENT VDOM

1° - For FGCP cluster synchronization to occur successfully, both devices need to have exactly the same number of VDOMs created and the same operating mode (i.e., whether VDOMs are enabled or not, and multi-VDOM mode). If there is a discrepancy in the VDOM structure, the cluster will fail to synchronize the configuration.

2° - Fortinet strictly requires that cluster members have the same hardware model and the same storage capacity/configuration (hard drives/SSDs). Models with different storage sizes or variants of the same model (one with an internal HDD and another without, such as a FortiGate 100E vs. 101E) cannot stably or reliably form an HA cluster via FGCP.

Therefore, the correct answers are: C and D.

I'd go as well with A, C. This is why, because the sync will sync all vdoms and in the configuration to HA would form will need the same group id.

HA require same model with same hard drive configuration and HA Group ID should match
